The Cheap (actual) Scheme

215 Prelim front

This is the scheme we will actually be building. We tried to keep as many existing walls as we could. We turned one of the main floor bedrooms into the master bath and closet. Changing the upper floor from 3 bedrooms and one bath to 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Although we know that losing a bedroom is usually not a good idea for resale value, we think that the revised plan is much more suitable for the way a modern family with 1 child lives. The basement will keep the ADU and add a media room and office to the main house living space.

I like the look of the ‘cheap’ scheme better than the expensive scheme. The expensive scheme looks too bulky and dark. The cheap scheme looks sleeker and blends in with the other houses on our street a little better. =)

I do wish the cheap scheme had a roof deck though! But I love the huge front deck you’ve included. Can’t wait to be smoking pork shoulders in my green egg on that deck.
